Why Monoliths asks for Gmail and Calendar access

Connecting Google is entirely optional. Every Monoliths feature except the inbox panel and Google Calendar sync works without it. Here is exactly what we request and what we do with it.

openid, userinfo.email, userinfo.profile

Identify which Google account you connected and show its email address in Settings so you know which mailbox and calendar are linked.

Used by: Settings → Connections

gmail.readonly

Read the sender, subject, date and snippet of your most recent messages so your dashboard can show a short inbox list. We never send, delete or modify email with this permission.

Used by: Dashboard → Client Email inbox panel

calendar.events

Show your Google Calendar events in the Monoliths agenda, and create or update events (including Zoom/Teams meeting details and reminder times) that you choose to schedule inside Monoliths.

What you are agreeing to when you connect Google

When you click Connect Gmail or Connect Google Calendar in Monoliths Settings, you are taken to Google's own consent screen. You grant MONOLITHS ONLINE permission to read your recent Gmail message headers and to read and write your Google Calendar events, solely so that Monoliths can display your inbox summary and keep your agenda and event reminders in sync. You can review the exact permissions on Google's screen before approving, approve only the ones you want, and withdraw them at any time. Monoliths' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your Google data is only ever used to display and manage the connected account's own information inside your private workspace.
We do not sell, rent or share your Google data with third parties.
We do not use your Google data for advertising, profiling or to train AI or machine-learning models.
No human at MONOLITHS ONLINE reads your email or calendar content. Access is limited to automated processing needed to render the features you requested.
Message bodies are not stored. Inbox rows are fetched on demand and held only for the lifetime of the request.
Calendar events you create or edit in Monoliths are stored in your own workspace records so the app can keep them in sync with Google.
Access tokens are stored encrypted at rest and are only used to make requests on your behalf.

Control

Disconnect or delete your data whenever you like

01Open Monoliths → Settings → Connections and click Disconnect on Gmail or Google Calendar. This deletes the stored access token immediately.
02Or revoke access from your Google account directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
03To delete your Monoliths workspace and all records we hold, email support and we will remove your account and data.
